Correspondence with Post Office Limited clarifying disclosure to the Inquiry

On 13 May 2022 the Inquiry wrote to Post Office Limited to query an article by its CEO, Mr Nick Read, published in the Scotland on Sunday newspaper on 8 May 2022.

The article incorrectly stated that the company had at that point provided 3 million documents to the Inquiry.

The Inquiry can confirm that as at 12 August 2022 and since its conversion to a statutory inquiry in June 2021, Post Office Limited has provided circa 70,000 documents to the Inquiry.

Post Office Limited clarified that the figure provided by Mr Read was an error. Mr Read’s apology is published on the Inquiry website here.
